Tribute

LBAU has grown out of the tradition of baseball in the city of St Louis. Several years ago, St Louis Public Schools were abandoned by all umpire associations. Michael Chunn formed Gateway Baseball Association (GBA) to serve as umpires to area youth & high school baseball & softball programs. Assisting Mr. Chunn in the formation of GBA were Reggie Williams, Tom Sullivan, Lorenzo Tolliver. When Mr. Chunn moved away from St Louis, Leroy Witherspoon started LBAU to continue the tradition begun by GBA.
